I have recently spent a large amount of time at the hospital while my grandad was treated for a stroke. I appreciated the care that was given and the support that was shown towards my family. Whilst there I felt that I would like to give something back and being a painter felt that this would be a natural thing to do.

I began documenting as much of Salford as I could, painting and drawing places of social historical and residential importance. If people could recognise areas of Salford that I painted and these were exhibited within the corridors then there would be an internal connection with the hospital and feelings of social inclusion.

12 paintings are exhibited in the corridors 6 of which I have donated to the Hospital to remain on permanent public display.
